What if I don’t catch fish during my Cancun fishing excursion?

I’m going to be sad. Do you think they will rig my pole to where I catch something? I know they bait the hook appropriate and we fish for 4 hours (me and my sis) It will be great…but if they see we don’t catch anything will they help us? ha ha. This will be off the coast of cozumel about 40 minutes. Its supposed to be full of different fish.
I’ve fished many times but all in the freshwater. I’ve never fished saltwater before.

You are out of luck.
Take a few trips to the pier when the boats are returning and that would be1 o’clock or so as you probably wont be going on your first day. you can get an idea of how the trend is and how many boats are catching how many fish..
The boat owners know me now and tell my if the sails are biting or not.
Cold water currants and red tides and an abundance of sardines can have a serious effect on catch.
You do not get charged per person and some boats are large enough to take eight people and at this time of year you can negotiate a price in the order of $300.00 for 6 hours of fishing
The cost is not per head.
If they are bringing them in then take a chance. Its kind of a nice outing anyway–riding the waves eating and drinking partying .
We went one time (6 of us) and this guy got drunk and passed out and woke up and threw up over the side and passed out again. We were just getting back to the pier and he says “Well that was fun” I said what part did you like the best “Getting hammered and passing out or waking up and ralphing over the side”
Everyone had a good laugh but we did not get skunked (Two Sails)
